Founded in 2018, MATI-X (Magnifying Agribusiness Through Innovative eXchange) is a Dallas-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit transforming lives by building and placing cold storages (made from repurposed shipping containers) in food deserts, equipping community members (e.g. underserved youth and adults, ages 15 and older) with the skills and resources to become leaders in agribusiness, and supporting urban farmers in getting their produce to market. By serving as a backbone organization in the food ecosystem, we enable food organizations to grow their impact in communities they serve. Through agribusiness, we are creating a future where food waste and food insecurity decrease substantially in DFW.

Accessible high-quality and fresh food will be a reality for ALL communities.

We distribute food and resources to those in nutritious gap communities, ensuring access to fresh, healthy meals while fostering economic empowerment and sustainability.

Our Approach and

Point of Difference

MATI-X generates revenue and provides backbone services to the food ecosystem by building, distributing, and leasing (to partner ownership) our one-of-a-kind shipping container cold storage units. Contributions both directly serve the community and support MATI-X in growing our impact and being self-sustaining.

  1. Build and Place 4 Cold Storage Units

  2. Sustain Current Partnerships and Form 5 New Partnerships

  3. Feed 3500 Families Monthly

  4. Distribute 80,000 lbs Annually

We are proud to say that in 2024 we exceeded all of our annual goals and look forward to building on this success in 2025.
